Is Your Body On Fire?

For years, the medical community has labeled high blood pressure as the Silent Killer&. There's no doubt that high blood pressure is a serious disease that can go undetected because of it's almost lack of symptom. Fortunately for adults, checking blood pressure is a routine test that's done in most medical interventions.

However, there's another silent killer that may lurking inside the body, and which goes undetected because it's not routinely tested for, even in the face of some of the diseases it is responsible for. This silent killer is none other than chronic internal inflammation, and it is at the root of most major degenerative diseases. According to Dr. Mark Hyman, these chronic diseases affect 125 million Americans. This means, that in an average family of three, at least one person has a chronic disease caused by inflammation.

Normally, inflammation is the body's first aid response to harm caused by a virus, bacteria, fungus, environmental toxin, or an injury. All of us, at one time or another, have experienced how our body reacts when we get a cut, bruise a part of the body, or get an infection on the skin. The injured area is usually characterized by pain, swelling, redness and heat.

When the body suffers any kind of injury, or harm, due to a foreign agent, it responds immediately to repair the damage. In many cases, this reaction goes undetected because the symptoms are barely noticeable. Once the body heals itself, it usually reverts to a non-emergency state, and the inflammation process turns itself off.

Inflammation becomes chronic when the body has to continuously fight off harmful invaders such as, hidden food allergens, chronic stress, hidden infections, environmental toxins. These invaders trigger a raging, unseen fire in the form of inflammation deep in your cells, and tissues.

Scientists are now looking at chronic internal inflammation that does not turn itself off, and they're linking it to many health conditions such as: type 2 diabetes, obesity, cancer, heart disease, stroke, alzheimer's disease, parkinson's disease, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and many others

Chronic internal inflammation has become an epidemic in America. Not only is it putting a stress on the health care system, but a large number of Americans are seeing their quality of life diminished, and their financial resources reduced because they are forced to give up their jobs, and go on permanent disability due to one or more chronic degenerative disease caused by ongoing internal inflammation..

The key to optimal health and disease prevention is to detect chronic inflammation, and treat its root causes promptly and effectively. If you're concerned about your level of inflammation, you should talk to your doctor about testing your level of C-reactive protein(CRP). CRP is found in the blood, and it's a solid indicator of inflammation since studies have shown that chronic inflammation increases the level of C-reactive protein (CRP) in the blood.

The more informed you are about the level of inflammation in your system, the more equipped you'll be to address it.

EXCELLENT INFORMATION! So simple to remember to ask for a CRP test, rather than going through a spinal tap. UGH!

Thank you so much!

Cristina Oakley @ 4:24 am:

Candice, the first time I heard about Internal Inflammation was 3 years ago when I had a consultation with a doctor specialized in Chinese medicine who informed me, after a blood test, that I was suffering from internal Inflammation.

That's when I started to research the subject and learn how to reduce it through diet and supplements.

Stay tuned, next week I'll be posting about
foods, supplement and lifestyle changes that
can help put out the fire.

The first thing you should do is ask your doctor to do a C-reactive protein test, and to explain the results to you. From my personal
experience, what I have noticed is that mainstream doctors will do the test, but ignore the results.

I guess that's because they do not any specific pharmaceutical drug to cure IF so, they'll treat the symptoms whether it be fybromyalgia, arthritis, or any other disease that may have internal inflammation at it's root cause.
